In February 2012 Japan will be able to enjoy the beauty products, but in the autumn Europe will follow. John Galliano, Marni and Christian Louboutin are big fans of Ladurée.

Famous sweets
Who doesn’t knows the Parisian macaroons that became a hit because of the patisserie at the Champs Elysées? Since the 19^th century, people in Paris have been falling in love with the cookies. Many flavors have been created over the years; raspberry, pistachio, liquorices and more.

In fashion
Ladurée is everything, but just another bakery. The collaborations with big names like John Galliano, Marni, Christian Louboutin and Marc Jacobs have proven that it’s a fashionable brand. From Athens to New York
The Greek designer Athanasia Leivanditou is convinced that this will be a success. Leivaditou tells from experience that rain is annoying and that when you’re holding an umbrella, your hands are occupied to do something else. She grew up in Athens, but moved to New York for studies and got to experience what cold rainy days are.

A success or not?
The design looks somewhat like a costume from the Matrix movies, but it has already booked some success. It has won the Silver A’Design Award and the prototype is being improved so it could possibly be produced. Unfortunately it’s not on sale yet, but maybe in the near future.

The color of 2012

The respected colors institute Pantone predicts the fashion color for each year. This year it’s tangerine tango, the color that reminds you of the sunset sky.

While last year’s color honeysuckle was difficult to get men involved, tangerine tango is a lot more accessible for men. Pantone researches the fashion color by involving designers worldwide.

Leatrice Eisman
The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eisman is very pleased with the choice for tangerine tango. “It’s sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Eiseman.

In the fashionworld
Tangerine red that has the color code 17-1463 has already booked success. Topdesigner Tommy Hilfiger used the color as the official color for his spring 2012 collection. The color is also suitable for fall collections as there’s also a red color involved.

Interior stores, make-up products and clothing designers are already getting with this color for their 2012 collections. In 2011 it was honeysuckle and in 2010 turquoise had to honor to be the fashion color.

For Ford’s 100^thbirthday celebration in the Great-Britain, the car manufacturer challenged two young designers to create a gown and a necklace.

Of course, since it’s for Ford, the pieces had to be entirely made of car parts. The result is are artistic and fashionable show pieces.

The dress
The former intern of Alexander McQueen and a nominee for the Scottish designer of the year award, Judy Clark, was responsible for the dress. Clark is strong in using tweed, but this time she had to turn to chiffon and car lights. In only one week Clark created a dress that probably Lady Gaga would love. The necklace
Katherine Hawkins was in charge of the jewelry piece and says to be inspired by Metropolis, a German science fiction film from 1927. She didn’t know what to expect from working with car parts, but when the box arrived she soon found her way with the metal, plastic and rubber parts.

Talking about age, Streep will portray Thatcher from age 49 to 85. Watch the trailer of “Iron Lady” that will be in cinema’s mid-January, depending on your location.

Shop the Vogue issue with Meryl Streep on the cover on the 20th of December. It’s a special issue as Streep jokes that she’s the oldest person till now to grace the cover.

Dragon tattoo collection

Fashion brand H&M and Trish Summerville, costumes designer of the movie “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, collaborate to launch a collection that’s inspired by the movie character Lisbeth Salander.

The collection will be in stores on the 14^thof December. Fans of Stieg Larsson’s trilogy can now dress like the mysterious and cool Lisbeth.

Stieg Larsson
The movie will be brought out by Hollywood, the Swedish film and the books have also been a major success. This collection is very promising too. Unfortunately the Swedish writer Stieg Larsson died before the big success.

Lisbeth Salander
Stieg Larsson describes the fictional Lisbeth Salander as the adult Pippi Longstocking. Just like Pipi, the movie character Lisbeth has red hair, but it’s dyed black. To make Lisbeth more rebel, Lisbeth obtained a tattoo of a wasp and of dragon.

Chanel fall 2012

Karl Lagerfeld chose to use Indian influences for the pre-fall 2012 collection. Especially the hair jewelry are one of a kind and a nice combination of stylish Paris and mysterious Bombay.

This was a rather different show as the guests were seated at beautiful decorated dining tables with delicious snacks and enjoying top models like Daphne Groeneveld on the runway.

A visit to India?
The Paris-Bombay collection is inspired by the Indian culture and mixed with the Parisian style of Lagerfeld. However, Lagerfeld did not visit India, in fact he has never been to the country. However, the show can be described as a first visit to India. Where the visitor will be amazed and having the feeling of entering a new and unique setting.

Beautiful dining
Silk and lace table clothes, chandeliers, fancy snacks and flowers in a nice atmosphere with a spectacular show. Chanel surely did not disappoint the guests. Like always Chanel’s Matiers d’art show is one we adore.
